The mixing of different liquid crystals is a common technique to tailor their properties for specific
smecticFphase. The greater length of PhP16, relative to PhP14, also changes the behavior of the mixtures with 2PhP. In the system PhP16/2PhP, with the greater length difference, the stabilization of the smectic state is less pronounced. This indicates that the stability of the smectic state decreases
